5. Chelsea Hiring Rafael Benitez

"Chelsea is a big club with fantastic players, every manager wants to coach such a big team,"
said Rafa Benitez in 2007. "But I would never take that job, in respect for my former team at Liverpool, no matter what. For me there is only club in England, and thats Liverpool." Fast forward five years to November 2012, and the Spaniard had just been officially named new Chelsea boss, successor to Roberto Di Matteo. None of us expected it because the man himself said it would never happen, but it did, and it was one of the most shocking moments of this season's Barclay's Premier League. His appointment has never been a popular one - little wonder given his aforementioned comments a few years ago - and he is to step down in the summer.
