Premier League: 10 INSANE Things We Didn't Expect To Happen This Season

4. Eden Hazard Kicking Ball Boy

Okay, we'll put our hands up here and confess we're cheating a little bit with this selection, due to the fact it actually happened in the Capital One Cup, but this incident was so perplexing, and so controversial at the time that we just had to add it to our list of INSANE things we've seen in the top flight this season. Let's set the scene. It's January 24th, Swansea vs Chelsea in the semi-finals of the League Cup at the Liberty Stadium. Michael Laudrup's side had earlier won 2-0 at Stamford Bridge to put one foot in the cup final, and merely had to avoid defeat, which they did in a dull 0-0 draw. Yet what happened in the 78th minute was far from dull. With time (and patience) evidently running thin, Chelsea's Eden Hazard totally lost his rag when the ball went out of play, and, feeling it wasn't redistributed to the goalkeeper by ball boy Charlie Morgan quick enough, the Belgian decided to intervene. The midfield ace attempted to wrestle the ball away from the teenager, who fell to the ground and covered the ball with his stomach. At this point, Hazard sensationally kicked the youngster in the ribs, resulting in a red card, Chelsea's elimination from the competition and one of the most watched videos from this season's Premier League campaign.
