Premier League: 10 January Transfers That Make Sense
4. Man City To Sign Daniel Agger
Manchester City have been imperious in attack, with an amazing 57 goals the highest in the Premier League. The likes of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo have been on fire, yet all their hard work could be undermined at the opposite end of the pitch, with City conceding 23 times - giving them the joint-worst defence in the top four. That is largely due to defensive woes at centre-back, with Vincent Kompany missing a big chunk of the first half of the season with injury and stand-in MartÃn Demichelis looking dubious. Matija Nastasic has also struggled for fitness this term and a new centre-back would therefore make a lot of sense in January. Daniel Agger has struggled to get into the Liverpool side under Brendan Rodgers this season, playing just half of his side's last 10 league games, with Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel and Kolo Toure preferred. There is no questioning his ability and with reams of Premier League experience under his belt, the Dane could serve as a more-than-able deputy for Kompany at the Etihad.
