Premier League 2012/13 Season Predictions – 10th – 1st

6. Liverpool

The King is dead, long live the King. Kenny Dalglish may be gone but with Brendan Rodgers at the helm there is a new wave of optimism around Anfield. The promise of a style of football fitting their lofty heritage and subtle touches around the stadium such as the return of the "This is Anfield" sign and red goal nets are mostly for the fans benefit. Bringing in familiar faces such as Joe Allen and Fabio Borini and telling Andy Carroll he is not needed are all steps in his quest for pass-and-move football. Rodgers won't be able to work his magic overnight and those expecting to see "Swanselona" at Anfield next season will have to wait. This year is all about righting the wrongs of past managers. That's why Aquilani, Rodriguez and Aurelio were shipped out and Suarez was told to stop complaining and move on from the Evra incident. That being said I think Liverpool will have enough about them to beat out their rivals for the best of the rest spot in the league. First Three Games: West Brom (A), Manchester City (H), Arsenal (H)
