Premier League 2013-14: Season Predictions

Tottenham Along with Liverpool and possibly Man United, Tottenham must be grateful for this season to start this weekend and for them to open their campaign against Palace on Sunday. For all the talk around Tottenham has been of one Gareth Bale. Bale, as with Rooney and Suarez mentioned earlier, remains with the club they ended last season with and despite numerous unconfirmed bids and an injury ruling him out of the Wales game on Wednesday (proving some injuries are authentic to players linked with other clubs). The Welshman aside, positive waves are emanating from White Hart Lane in the transfer dealings they have completed. Perennial goal machine Roberto Soldado completed his £25million move from Valencia, adding some much needed quality to the striking department. Nacer Chadli, the latest member of the Belgian exodus to the Premier League, has been drafted in to bolster the supply lines to the strikers and add the odd goal too. Protecting the back four, Paulinho has been recruited for an estimated £17.5million and he will be utilised primarily to protect the likes of Jan Vertonghen at the back, but, if allowed, he can maraude forward and join the attacks, particular if he is combined with Sandro or Etienne Capoue, where both can interchange easily. Overall, I feel that the right signings have been made to finally break into the Champions League at their North London rivals' expense. Prediction: 4th
