Premier League: 8 Most Over Hyped Players Of This Season
8. Adel Taarabt
So far in his career, the Moroccan is getting the tag of a 'what if' man. No matter where he goes, he never seems to fit in. He had an outstanding season for QPR when they were promoted from the Championship but found Premier League life hard. He no doubt has huge ability and as Harry Redknapp said "He can do things that nobody else can do. No one can do what he can do. He's amazing." At the beginning of this season, Fulham took the gamble of signing Taarabt on loan from QPR thinking he could be the difference in a Fulham team lacking flair, pace and anything resembling youth. On a good day, Taarabt could nutmeg every opposing player twice, get an assist and win you the game with a wonder strike. Unfortunately for Fulham, he didn't have many good days in London. After 4 and a half months, no goals, no assists and no telling contributions, Adel Taarabt was sent packing back to QPR and can now, somehow, be found playing in Italy with AC Milan. Not the way Martin Jol thought this transfer would go when he brought him in. To be fair, Taarabt is know as a player who needs reassurance from his manager on a weekly basis and with the constant change of managers at Fulham, one can forgive his inability to reach any consistency at the Cottage.
