Liverpool may now have to do without the unique talents of Luis Suárez after the maddening Uruguayan completed his move to Barcelona earlier this summer, but Suárez was far from the only reason the Reds enjoyed such a thrilling renaissance in 2013-14. Despite an abundance of natural talent, Sturridge failed to take full advantage of limited opportunities at Manchester City and Chelsea earlier in his career, but the young Englishman has blossomed in spectacular fashion since securing a move to Anfield in January 2013. Sturridge has scored 36 goals in 52 appearances as a Liverpool player, cementing his position as a proper Number 9 for both club and country. Predictions for how Liverpool will fare post-Suárez are laced with uncertainty as it remains to be seen how well the club will manage the additional rigours of Champions League football and assimilating a host of fresh faces into their squad, but Sturridge can surely be relied upon to continue his impressive work up front. New signing Mario Balotelli will be expected to contribute goals and how Rodgers plans to make full use of both forwards is something that will only become clear in time, but Sturridge looks fit, confident and secure in his role as the clubs go-to striker and should have another fine season as an Anfield player.
I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
