Premier League Predictions - Feb 8th/9th

Tottenham vs Everton

At White Hart Lane are another pair of relatively new managers, with Tim Sherwood and Roberto Martinez endearing themselves to the more attack-minded football fan. Just one point separates the two sides, who lie sixth and fifth respectively, and while both may yearn for Champions League football, they are in reality battling it out for the one guaranteed Europa League spot. Tottenham's new age of optimism was flattened by Man City's runaway train last time out at home, but their trip to Hull yielded a battling point. They need all three against Everton if they are to keep their own top four hopes on track, but Sherwood has a striker in Emmanel Adebayor who is rejuvenated and will cause the visiting Toffees huge problems. Everton are probably still in shock from their own humbling at Liverpool. The 4-0 defeat dented the huge confidence that has been built up under Martinez, but they at least responded well against Aston Villa. Martinez described it as the most satisfying win of the season, but should they spring a surprise in North London they will be dreaming of the Champions League once again. Prediction - 2-0 Everton win.
