Premier League Predictions: Who Will Finish Bottom Half?

16th: Wigan

As much as I want to berate Wigan and their three fans, I admire them, and Roberto Martinez in particular. They're a plucky, ballsy side, a team which pulls off enough upsets that I've had to stop betting against them because they shaft me so often with their unpredictability. Somehow they just keep going year after year. At the start of every season, pundits, fans and loud-mouths alike tip them to go down, or to struggle at the very least, but Wigan love to defy the odds. New arrival Kone has been vital already, but it's the familiar face of Jordi Gomez that has impressed recently. Al-Habsi has also been a stalwart between the sticks, although he hurt his reputation a tad when he dropped the ball for THAT goal. I can't willingly predict the Latics to be relegated. Yes, as always they'll probably have the fight of their lives come the end of the season, but they always manage to just sneak their way out of it, often on the last day of the season. For their own sake, I hope they prove me right.
