6. Maicon (Inter Milan to Manchester City)

A transfer that has been mooted since Manchester City were first bought out, has finally happened. The arrival of Maicon will certainly not get the coverage it would have done a few years ago, as many critics claim that the right wing-back is past his best. Certainly, at the age of 31, Maicon is entering the twilight of his career, but what many critics fail to mention is that he has suffered from injuries in the past couple of seasons that have limited his game time significantly. He will bring an attacking flair to the right-hand side of midfield, that Micah Richards often fails to deliver. Unlike Richards, Maicon also has an eye for goal. The Brazilian veteran of 70 caps has amassed 20 goals over the years for Inter, which seems like a reasonable return for a right-wing back. If the Manchester City medical staff handle Maicon correctly and keep him fit, City fans could be in for a treat.
