Premier League: Most Valuable XI

11. Thibaut Courtois (Goalkeeper)

Value: £22million Plenty of Chelsea supporters would have been unsettled by the prospect of Thibaut Courtois replacing Petr Cech at the beginning of this campaign, but the young Belgian has hardly put a foot €“ or glove €“ wrong since making his Premier League debut against Burnley back in August. Since then, few could argue the Belgian hasn't proved he's more than capable of handling himself at the highest level. With that said, a goalkeeper is said to peak at some point following his or her 30th birthday, meaning we could be waiting nearly a decade before seeing Courtois at his best. Any 22-year-old good enough to oust Cech as first-choice between the sticks at Stamford Bridge must be worth a few quid, and having signed a lucrative five-year contract extension in September, £22million is surely little more than a fraction of the compensation Chelsea would require to consider letting Courtois go.
