Premier League's Most Overrated Players By Position

7. LB - Luke Shaw - Manchester United

Shaw started out the Premier League season with a handful of admirable performances under Jose Mourinho that had United fans (and only United fans) comparing him to Liverpool's Andrew Robertson. Undeserved as those comparisons may have been, it sure did seem like United were finally getting the player they signed in 2014.

Sadly, it wasn't long before Shaw fell off the radar again and has been a relative non-factor since. Quite frankly, only Ashley Young's horrendous performances have allowed Shaw to go rather unscathed. Of course, Roy Keane hasn't let him slide, as he ripped the defender apart for his performance against Everton.

It's quite telling that Luke Shaw won Manchester United's Player of the Year Award this year, but that's more an indictment on United's shambolic situation than Shaw's quality. Harsh? Well, let's be clear, Shaw, a modern wing-back, has only 4 assists this season, along with a mighty 11 yellow cards. His form is inconsistent, his end product often wayward, and his fitness questionable.

He's far from the biggest problem in United's squad but he's not the quality of player the team needs either. Shaw would be a great left-back for a mid-table team, but he's vastly overrated at United.
