Rangers Transfers: 10 Players They Must Sign This Summer
9. Rickie Lambert
Admittedly, Rickie Lambert is the least likely of all the players featured in this article. Yes, he may have had a miserable time of it at Liverpool, but he's still a decent striker, one more than capable of slotting nicely into a mid-table English Premier League club and hitting the ground running. After that season he had at Southampton - before moving to Anfield - he's worth the risk for somebody. The problem here lies in the lack of funds Rangers have at their disposal, and Lambert would surely command bigger wages than is the norm in Scotland. There's no doubt the Gers could likely find themselves priced out of the market for the big target man, but what if they could convince him to come? It may be a long shot, because the English game is currently a million times more desirable than its Scottish counterpart, but Glasgow Rangers are still a big club, one who harbour ambitions of once again gracing the Champions League stage. Lambert seems to be a level-headed guy who just wants to get his head down, play football and score goals, he'd be a revelation up here. It does seem however that a move to Aston Villa could be likely, as makeweight for Christian Benteke going the other way.
