Rangers Transfers: 10 Players They Must Sign This Summer
6. Ikechi Anya
Similar to Rickie Lambert, this remains a pretty long stretch for Rangers, who aren't exactly in the position to be signing players about to ply their trade in the English Premier League. Perhaps the only chink of light at the end of the transfer tunnel is that Anya is a self-confessed Rangers fan, having attended a number of games and taking the time to visit Ibrox Stadium whenever he's North of the border training with the Scottish national team. Even so, Watford - the player's current club - have just been promoted to the Premier League following a surprising late burst of form which saw them finish just behind title-winning Bournemouth. There's no doubt Anya will want to test his skills against the very best the UK footballing scene has to offer, and that may not be in Scotland. Rangers shouldn't give up hope however, there's no guarantee that Anya would be a regular starter for Watford in the Premier League, especially if The Hornets decide to strengthen their squad with players who could feasibly ensure their safety amongst the elite of English football. If fresh funds become available to Rangers through Dave King's consortium, they could do a lot worse than the nippy wide man, who has regularly shone for Gordon Strachan's Scotland side.
