Rangers Transfers: 10 Players They Must Sign This Summer

3. Jermaine Beckford

Once upon a time, Jermaine Beckford was considered a player who could make a name for himself as a decent attacker in the English Premier League, but at 31 years of age those days are arguably behind the native of London. His most recent parent club, Bolton Wanderers, only witnessed a grand total of 7 goals fly in off the boots of Beckford, a poor return on any investment. Most recently, Beckford was the man of the moment for his loan club, Preston North End, netting a hat trick out of nowhere in the Playoff final which will send the team back into the Championship mix. That right there may earn him a move to Preston, given that he has just been released by Bolton, but Rangers could throw their name into the hat too. Beckford isn't getting any younger, and Ibrox Stadium has been name-checked as a wonderful arena to play football in regularly. When full, the stadium holds 50,000 supporters, and when the team are on their game those fans are wild. Jermaine Beckford will likely never reach the top level of English football again, but he could help Rangers maintain their status in the top division North of the border.
