Rangers Transfers: 10 Players They Must Sign This Summer

4. Dominique Malonga

A degree of frustration at Ibrox comes from the fact that Glasgow Rangers - one of the biggest sporting institutions in Great Britain - do not have a scouting network in place. That's a shocking fact, but a fact nonetheless, Rangers rarely scout for fresh talent, which may explain why so much money has been thrown at sub-par players over the past 3/4 seasons. Whilst fans have been forced to sit and watch the likes of Jon Daly struggling to run after a ball, even smaller clubs such as Hearts and Hibernian have signed a number of decent prospects who have more to offer. In the case of Hearts, they had to rebuild their entire playing squad, whereas Rangers struggled to find the right talent. This happened once more in September, as a big strapping striker joined Hibs. Dominique Malonga isn't a world-beater, which is exactly why he plays at the level he does, for the club who pay his wages, but in games against Rangers, the big man has stretched his legs and left defenders for dead. Having pace and size is enviable to the Gers, as the aforementioned Daly and Boyd look like they've been at the fish suppers before games.
