Ranking Chelsea’s Premier League Goalkeepers – Worst to Best

2. Thibaut Courtois

Chelsea Career: 2011-present, 41 appearances. After arriving from Genk in 2011, the six-foot-six goalkeeper was sent on loan to Atletico Madrid, eventually extending the move to three seasons, in what was a successful stint in his early career. Finally displacing Cech, he was Mourinho€™s preferred €˜keeper in last season€™s title-winning side. At only 23-years-old he already has a season€™s experience under his belt, along with Champions League starts for both Chelsea and Atletico. Having already played a Champions League final for Atletico €“ despite losing to rivals Real Madrid €“ the Chelsea stopper has made a name for himself in recent seasons. With Courtois serving suspension after his red card versus Swansea, new signing Asmir Begovic stepped in against City and after a handful of impressive saves he may look to challenge for the position. Whether or not he can play to a level that keeps Courtois on the sidelines remains to be seen. Thibaut Courtois could follow in the footsteps of his predecessor - Petr Cech - and become one of the greatest goalkeepers of the modern era. A Premier League starter at 23-years-old, and a convincing one at that, the Belgian is showing great potential.
