11. Marco Ambrosio

Chelsea Career: 2003-2004, 12 appearances. Signed as understudy to Carlo Cudicini, a keeper to feature at the opposite end of the spectrum, Ambrosio gave a memorable first impression at Stamford Bridge. Sadly, his was memorable for all of the wrong reasons. The Italian€™s debut came against Notts County in the League Cup, and saw him make several errors against the lower ranked opposition. Despite a Chelsea win, Ambrosio conceded twice. The keeper€™s fortunes did improve when injury to Cudicini and Jurgen Macho forced him into the first-team slot, as he made a handful of appearances €“ most notably in a Champions League quarter final victory over Arsenal. But the return of Cudicini and signing of Petr Cech marked the end of Ambrosio€™s short time at Chelsea. After only a season with the club he left.
