Ranking Every Liverpool Transfer Under Jürgen Klopp

4. Andy Robertson

Both Alisson and Robbo have been stellar, but the reason we've given the edge to the Scotsman is simple: an £8M price tag. This isn't a bargain, this is robbery (robbory anyone ? No ? ...). He cost 15M less than Aurier, 22M less than Lindelöf, 42M less than Mendy, and you won't see them in the PFA Team of the Year anytime soon.

You could say Robertson has been the opposite of Keita: expectations were low for a recently relegated Hull City player, but he turned out to be, excuse the cliché, world class. He is the best left-footed crosser in the league, no less. His strong presence, sustained focus and apt decision-making are a breath of fresh air after years of Alberto Moreno. Unlike the Spaniard, he can actually track back, cover up space and tackle without being reckless. A Wolverine-like pain endurance allows him to run up and down his wing from the first minute to the last, always positioning himself where he's useful. Only Firmino possibly matches his workrate.

In many ways, Robertson's an old school left-back. He's not the type to take players on or leave his position like Marcelo. He's the type to make the right runs at the right time, and expertly cross the ball. You won't see him trying to do stepovers or elasticos next season, but you'll probably see him reach double figures for assists once more.
