Ranking Every Liverpool Transfer Under Jürgen Klopp
11. Ragnar Klavan
After being a sort of cult figure, "Lord" Klavan has been quickly forgotten. The emergence of Joe Gomez, the rebirth of Matip and the signing of Van Dijk meant he wasn't really missed. Yet, during his two year-spell, he has been a very dependable soldier in Klopp's army.
The record-tying six-time Estonian Footballer of the Year was bought for a fourth of Lovren's £20M fee and regularly looked as good if not better. His time at the club wasn't without blunders, but it's fair to say he did well overall. He was experienced, more comfortable on the ball than Lovren, and left-footed, which is always a good thing to have in a back four. Switching between 4th and 3rd choice, on his day he had some fans clamoring for a starting role. A man of the match performance at Goodison Park in 2016 and an unforgettable last-minute winning goal against Burnley are the highlights of his career in red.
He was sold to Cagliari for £2M in 2018, an acceptable offer for a 31 year old back-up. A reliable defender with a good price to performance ratio, Klavan was a sensible piece of business if not an eye-catching one.
