Manquillo will never be a full-back who sets the world alight in the manner of someone like Marcelo, but the 20-year-old has the makings of a very solid right-back about him. He is very similar in style to Arbeloa. The 20-year-old, who is on a two-year loan spell from Atletico Madrid, was given the thankless task of dealing with Marcelo and Isco down Madrid's left flank, and he dealt with them admirably in general. Every now and then he was beaten, but that is always going to happen against players of that calibre. The young Spaniard also got forward when he could, and although his crossing was inconsistent, it was refreshing to see. He might not be the most explosive, noticeable player around, but he is a far more reliable option that the erratic Glen Johnson.
