Ranking Newcastle's Transfer Dealings 2014-15 - Incomings
7. Remy Cabella - Signed For £12 Million (From Montpellier)
Appearances (All Competitions): 23 (11) Minutes Played (Premier League): 1,947 Assists (All Competitions): 2 Goals (All Competitions): 1 Yellow Cards (Premier League): 2 Red Cards (Premier League): 0 Season Rating: 4 Value-For-Money Rating: 2 He has certainly not justified his £12 million price tag - and he has even become the source of many supporters' frustrations - but Cabella has shown the odd flashes of brilliance this season that hopefully he can build on for the next campaign. Lightweight and far-too easily knocked off the ball, Cabella has been unable to regularly impose his silky skills and creative ability on Premier League matches. However, for his brilliant first-half away at Chelsea, his great display at Hull City, his good performance against Arsenal, and just generally because he has been a rare creative spark (alongside Ayoze Perez) in an abject Newcastle side going forward, Cabella gets a 4 for his season rating. He must improve for next year though and start to prove he can be a star in the making. For now, his value-for-money rating of 2 - he is the club's most-expensive signing since Fabricio Coloccini in 2008, remember - is thoroughly deserved.
