It simply had to be this one, didn't it? 1999/00 was an amazing season for Sunderland. Not only did the Black Cats finish 7th in their first season back in the top flight thanks to Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn's goalscoring heroics, but they did so while wearing the two greatest Sunderland shirts of the Premier League era. The away kit was previously used with the Lambtons logo, but the Reg Vardy sponsor was brought in for the Premier League season and looked even better. Navy, with red and white bars, and of course a red trim collar. It was a fantastic kit that has woven its way into the hearts of many fans.
