Ranking Sunderland's Premier League Home Kits - From Worst To Best

1. 1999-00

Red and white. Plain and simple. The 1999-00 kit is pretty much perfect in every way. For starters, it does look fantastic with the simple red and white trim and collar. Reg Vardy will always remain a classic sponsor, and the lethal duo of Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips will always be remembered sporting the 1999-00 shirt. Asics did a terrific job, and this shirt was basically the benchmark for all efforts since. The small black cat embroidered onto the sleeve was a great touch, and it's no wonder the shirt has recently been remade into a classic range, though they do come in more than just XL, with Phillips apparently opting for the same size shirt as his towering striker partner. It's a home kit that will never be beaten, surely?
