2. Cristiano Ronaldo Is Absolute Quality

It can't be easy being Cristiano Ronaldo sometimes. Not many players score 35 times in 34 games in a season and still end up being regarded as only the second best player in world football. That pesky Lionel Messi once again scooped the prestigious Balon d'Or again recently, leaving the Portuguese shaking a fist at his Argentine rival. Ronaldo was absolute class last night, both in his goal and decision not to celebrate against his former club, a gesture that was warmly appreciated by United's travelling fans who all still evidently adore him after 6 marvellous seasons at Old Trafford that saw the club sweep up any trophy that mattered. His goal last night was also majestic and even inevitable - you just knew he was going to find his way onto the score sheet at some point in the evening, and so it told when he rose above Patrice Evra and hung in the air for what seemed like a lifetime before nodding past the despairing dive of David de Gea for the equalising goal. A quality goal by a class player.
