The Independent, big spenders AS Monaco are willing to make a world record £85 million bid for Real Madrid sensation, Cristiano Ronaldo. The former Manchester United attacker has been rumoured to make a sensational return to Old Trafford this summer but despite Madrid president, Florentino Perez, expressing his confidence that Ronaldo will commit his future, it seems that the newly promoted Ligue 1 side are confident they can persuade the Portuguese international to move to France. The 28-year-old playmaker has two years left on his current deal with the Spanish giants but refuses to make a decision on his future until he returns from international duty. Manchester United originally sold Ronaldo in 2009 for a world record £80 million fee but with Monaco having already splashed out over £110 million on new recruits this summer, eclipsing that transfer fee doesn't seem out of the question. Ronaldo is believed to be unhappy at the Bernabeu after claiming he was €˜sad€™ at the end of 2012.
