More bad news for Chelsea fans here. Not only are they facing the very real prospect of having to bid adieu to star man Eden Hazard, they may also lose their number one goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois.

The logic here is that the Real Madrid corridors of power regard the Belgian shot-stopper as a more attainable, albeit slightly inferior, alternative to the aforementioned David de Gea.

It makes sense as well. Courtois has already enjoyed three seasons playing in the Spanish capital, having turned out for the club's fierce rivals Atletico during a long-term loan stint from the Blues between 2011 and 2014.

Throw in the fact that Stamford Bridge won't be hosting any Champions League football next term, and it seems reasonable to surmise that he would jump at the chance to return to La Liga if given the opportunity.
