Real Madrid Transfers: 5 Players They Must Sign

4. David Alaba (Bayern Munich)

With the signing of left-back Ferland Mendy this summer, it's clear that Real Madrid no longer see 31-year-old Marcelo - regularly linked with a move to Juventus - as the guaranteed starter that he has for so long been for Los Blancos.

That signing of Mendy is obviously one designed to offer alternatives at left-back, but that doesn't mean that Real Madrid wouldn't be smart to try and tempt Bayern Munich's David Alaba to the Spanish capital.

Initially establishing himself at Bayern's left-back berth for several seasons, the Austria international has at times found himself used in a left wing or central midfield role due to his mobility and technical prowess. And after a decade at the Bundesliga giants, the 27-year-old Alaba may be open to a challenge away from the Allianz Arena.

Earlier this year, The Independent reported that Arsenal were keen to take the left-footer to The Emirates this summer. Should it indeed be possible to tempt FC Bayern into selling the versatile Austrian, Zinedine Zidane should be doing all he can to bring the player to Real Madrid as part of the clear rebuilding job that needs to be done at Spain's most successful club.
