InsideFutbol are reporting that teenage sensation Justin Kluivert is close to joining Serie A side Roma. The 19-year old has one year remaining on his deal at Ajax, and it's understood he may be about to trade the Amsterdam Arena for the Stadio Olimpico this summer.

Kluivert, the son of Dutch legend Patrick, is said to have turned down the chance to sign a new contract at the Eredivisie giants. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Man Utd had been alerted to this, but it was Spurs who were showing the most interest.

Now, Roma have pulled ahead of the pack and seem most likely to sign the winger, who scored 11 goals and assisted five more last season.

The Italian club held talks with Kluivert and his agent on Wednesday night, and the negotiations were said to be positive. A deal is very close to completion, and that will disappoint Spurs fans who wanted to see the talented youngster become their latest signing.

There's no concrete figure being circulated for Kluivert's services, but Ajax (knowing the player only has 12 months left on his current deal) will be eager to get as much as possible.
