Serie A Round Up: Matchday 6

Legaseriealogotim Serie A is now in full swing and everything is starting to piece together. Some are playing better than expected, others will be wishing they could start again. New signings have settled and managers are starting to create their team. It's starting to get exciting and this weekend was no different. Napoli continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 victory in Genoa. Pandev's brace temporarily put the Naples side on top of the league but they knew Roma could retake that position with a victory of their own on Sunday. In the only other game on Saturday, AC Milan secured only their second win of the season with a narrow 1-0 victory against Sampdoria. Birsa's goal early in the second half proved to be the difference in the end, leaving the visitors second bottom in the table and without a win so far this season. Juventus moved level on points with Napoli after their 1-0 victory in the Turin derby, with Paul Pogba scoring the decisive goal. The defeat for Torino left them in mid-table, with AC Milan now overtaking them due to their superior goal difference. Roma knew a victory would take them to the top of the table and maintain their 100% record to the season and they made no mistake. A 5-0 crushing of Bologna, which included a brace from Gervinho, put the hosts exactly where they wanted to be. The other goals came courtesy of Florenzi, Benatia and Ljajic. Bologna sit third bottom and without a win this season. Inter Milan were held to a 1-1 draw against Cagliari after Icardi's opener was cancelled out by Nainggolan's effort 7 minutes from time. The draw meant Inter found themselves 2 points behind Juventus and Napoli, while Cagliari hover in mid-table. Atalanta defeated Udinese 2-0 thanks to a brace from Denis, a result that gave Atalanta vital points and set them into mid-table obscurity where they now sit alongside the team they defeated. Catania won their first game of the season this weekend after a 2-0 victory against Chievo. Plasil and Castro were on the scoresheet for the hosts, with the result moving them off the bottom of the table and up to 17th. Chievo occupy 16th. Sassuolo grabbed only their second point of the season with a 2-2 draw against high flying Lazio. The visitors stormed into a 2 goal lead thanks to goals from Dias and Candreva but it didn't last long. Scheletto cut the deficit just a minute after Lazio's second, with the equaliser coming from Floro Flores with 14 minutes remaining. The result didn't lift Sassuolo off the foot of the table, while Lazio sit in sixth. In the other match on Sunday, Verona defeated Livorno 2-1 with Iturbe and Jorginho on target for the hosts and Rinaudo grabbing the goal for Livorno. Monday nights game saw Fiorentina draw 2-2 with Parma. Gargano opened the scoring and put Parma ahead before Gonzalo equalised for the hosts. Vargas then put Fiorentina ahead with 12 minutes remaining but a 90th minute equaliser from Gobbi shared the points. Fiorentina sit in 5th, while Parma are 14th.
