Shrewsbury Town
Manager: Graham Turner
Key Player: Chris Weale
Predicted Finish: 22nd Let it not be said that I am a biased man. My own team, Shrewsbury Town have had what can only be described as a rather depressing summer following a bright end to last season with saw us finish 16th after a long fight against relegation. Turner was very quick to get rid of players at the close season, unfortunately he has not been quite as astute in terms of signings new ones. The addition of unknown striker John Marsden has given fans a little hope but in general optimism isnt too high down at the Meadow. With one of the smallest and most inexperienced squads in the league Shrewsbury look to be dragged into a relegation battle once again this coming season. However Graham Turner, now the oldest manager in English football is an expert when it comes to the lower leagues and is somewhat of a messiah here in Shropshire. His use of the loan system has been well documented and he will certainly help the Town as they hope to avoid the drop once again this season.
Stevenage
Manager: Graham Westley
Key Player: Jon Ashton
Predicted finish: 22nd Many would argue that Stevenage have been pointing above their weight for a few years now. Since their promotion to the football league in 2010 the club has been in a near constant state of ecstasy. Their back to back promotions and then their shock play off finish the season before last surprised everybody. However I think the clubs lucky run will end here. Their rapid drop down the table in the second half of last season is no doubt a sign of things to come and whilst Graham Westley has had unprecedented success at the club in the past I think this year could be their last in the third tier for a considerable amount of time.
Swindon Town
Manager: Mark Cooper
Key Player: Andy Williams
Predicted Finish: 16th Its been a long hard summer for Swindon fans. The Wiltshere club have lost several key players, including most notably James Collins and Luke Rooney. The club have appointed assistant manager Mark Cooper to steady the ship until they can find a full time gaffer and the former Kettering man looks to have a difficult job on his hands. A cut budget has seen them sign loads of loanees over the summer, most of whom have come from Spurs and this shows that they arent going to be the force they were last campaign. I dont expect Swindon to get relegated but if things continue to get worse for them then this could well be the way things end up for them.
