Here is the second of our options that is currently doing the business in Serie A, but this one is on a different tact since he brings years of experience with him. 31-year-old Genoa striker Alberto Gilardino has scored nine goals from 20 starts in Serie A this season. As mentioned, the player has great experience after making over 400 league appearances in Italian football for a host of clubs including Parma, AC Milan and Fiorentina. Gilardino also has a host of international experience to bring to the table after playing 57 times for Italy, scoring 19 goals. Further stats on the player from this season include 2.7 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.7 dribbles per match; he has provided two assists as well as an average rating of 7.05. It remains to seen though if the Italian forward can be persuaded to join the Premier League this month, as he recently suggested that he wants to stay put as he looks to score 200 career goals in Serie A.
