Spurs 0-1 Crystal Palace - 6 Things We Learned

4. Poor Decisions At Key Times

Palace could have put the game to bed when Connor Wickham burst through the Spurs defence. He had one more defender to beat to go for glory himself or he had a simple pass to his left where Yannick Balosie was screaming for the ball. Had he squared it, Bolasie would have had about ten minutes to pick his spot and put Palace into the next round but instead, Wickham shot and it bounced off the Spurs defender to safety. Palace's performance was punctuated by poor decision making like the above: if they are going to turn their season around, they'll need to be a lot sharper on the mind, as these key moments decide where the points end up more often than not.
