Spurs' 10 Best Set-Piece Experts Of The Premier League Era

9. Tom Huddlestone

Time At Spurs: 2005-2013. Set-Piece Specialty: Indirect Free Kicks, Corners. Tom Huddlestone had a wand of a right foot and, although he rarely got the opportunity to strike at goal from a dead ball, he was nearly always the man designated to loft the ball in to the box via an indirect free kick or corner in his time at White Hart Lane. Hudd's ability to pick out a pass was second to none during open play, so he was always the natural choice to do the same from a set-piece. While he did occasionally shoot from a direct free kick, he was rarely successful with them - with his most famous effort hitting the Liverpool wall and falling to the aforementioned Assou-Ekotto, who proceeded to smash the ball in to the top corner of the net. He now plies his trade at Hull City, alongside fellow former Spurs in Jake Livermore and Michael Dawson.
