Spurs Poll: Is Aaron Lennon Still Good Enough?

The once-promising winger's career seems to have stalled. Is he worth keeping at Spurs?

Aaron Lennon moved to Tottenham Hotspur in June of 2005 when he was just eighteen years old from his hometown club Leeds United. He had broken in to the Leeds first team two years prior and was viewed as one of the most promising talents in English football. Costing just £1 million, Lennon quickly became a first team regular at White Hart Lane following his debut in the August of that year and he was nominated by his fellow Premiership players for the PFA Young Player of the Year for both the 2005-06 season and the 2006-07 season (though he was ultimately beaten to the award on each occasion, by Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo - both of Manchester United respectively). Lennon also soon made his mark on the England squad, with his debut coming as a substitute in a 6-0 home victory over Jamaica in 2006. However, his last game for his country came a year and a half ago in February 2013 - again as a substitute - in a 2-1 home victory against Brazil and his failure to play for his country since then indicative of his form at club level. New Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino showed faith in the speedy 27 year old winger by starting him against West Ham United last Saturday, but he created no chances in the game at all and only attempted one take-on, which he failed with, and Spurs fans are starting to question whether or not he represents a part of the future of the club or if it's time for him to move on. So, is Aaron Lennon still good enough for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club?
