Spurs Transfer News: 5 Alternative Striker Options To Christian Benteke

3. Loic Remy

Remy If Villas-Boas is bargain-hunting this summer, another option available to him is Loic Remy. The France international only joined the Hoops from Marseille in January but looks set for another move following the Londoner's relegation to the Championship in May. The 26-year-old impressed while at Loftus Road, scoring six goals in 14 appearances. However, he could not prevent his new side from bombing out of the league and is unlikely to want to stick around now that Harry Redknapp's side are contesting the lower reaches of English football. Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle have a long-term interest in the striker dating back to July 2012, but all three ultimately ended up missing out. Now, with Remy available for as little as £6 million, a fee that is stipulated by the player's so called "relegation release clause", Spurs would be mad not to press ahead with what could perhaps prove to be one of the summer's shrewdest transfer moves.
