Spurs Transfer News: Gareth Bale To Join Real Madrid For £93 Million Plus Coentrao?
Metro. The world transfer-record-breaking offer comes as Real manager Carlo Ancelotti said earlier this week that he felt a deal for the 24-year-old "was dead" after earlier seeing an £85 million bid rejected for the Welshman. But the latest offer, which was made on Monday evening and also includes left-back Coentrao, looks like being enough. Taking the versatile Portugal international into account, who can play in defence and midfield, the deal is worth £100 million to Spurs, with £93 million being paid in cash plus the addition of the £7 million-rated 25-year-old. Reports coming out of Spain claim Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has given the thumbs up to the deal, which could be completed by as early as this weekend. It it goes ahead, the transfer brings to a close months of speculation pertaining to the future of Bale, who has also been linked with a move to champions Manchester United. Levy meanwhile is zeroing in on Bale's replacement, with Anzhi winger Willian set to join in a £30 million deal.
