Spurs Transfer News: Real Madrid Cool Interest In Gareth Bale?

Telegraph. The 24-year-old has been at the centre of one of this summer's most enduring of transfer sagas and has been strongly linked with a world-transfer-record-breaking summer move to the Bernabeu. But the Spanish giants appear to have thrown cold water over their pursuits of the double PFA Player of the Year with manager Carlo Ancelotti telling club president Florentino Pérez he does not consider the midfielder integral to his plans this season. The pressure has been on Pérez this summer to counter Barcelona's acquisition of Neymar by making a world class signing of his own, but that opinion has changed recently in Madrid. Real have won six of their seven summer friendlies and a lot of the burden placed on Pérez to land a "marquee signing" has been lifted. And manager Ancelotti believes he has a strong enough squad at his disposal this season - without Bale. After Real€™s last game against Inter Milan in St Louis, the former Chelsea boss said:

€œWhy talk about Bale when Jesé and Morata have both played so well. They are young but incredibly talented.€
Ancelotti feels that with Ronaldo, Isco and Mesut Ozil playing behind Karim Benzema, he already has his front four nailed down for this season and that in Morata, Jesé, Kaka and Di María he also has two players for each position. Madrid remain keen on Bale but quite whether a deal for the Welshman happens this summer or next has been thrown back into the balance.
