Spurs Transfers: 10 DREAM Signings Tim Sherwood Could Make

9. Fabio Coentrao (Real Madrid)

Perhaps a more realistic option to help abate Tottenham's left-back problems is forgotten Real Madrid man Fabio Coentrao. Coentrao is very much on the fringes at the Bernabeu right now and has only played four La Liga games all season, with Marcelo preferred by manager Carlo Ancelotti. However, he is a fantastic talent and was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United last summer, while he has also been on Spurs's radar in recent times. Tim Sherwood's side need a quality left-back to boost their hopes of competing with the big guns in years to come and Coentrao is a talent. Able to play in a variety of roles, such as on the left-wing and even in defensive midfield, the flexible Portuguese would give Sherwood a variety of options and strength in depth. Real would also likely be open to offers considering Coentrao is very much deemed surplus to requirement in the Spanish capital.
