Spurs Transfers: 10 January Replacements For Roberto Soldado

4. Jay Rodriguez (Southampton)

Mauricio Pochettino was linked with a number of his former Southampton players over the summer, following his arrival at Spurs - one of them being Jay Rodriguez - but he didn't end up signing any of them. However, he would be wise to make a move for the England forward in January. Rodriguez is currently injured, but is due back very soon and he would be a very good signing for Spurs €“ especially given that he has already flourished under Mauricio Pochettino€™s leadership during the Argentinian€™s time at St. Mary's. He might not be an out-and-out striker, but he is certainly capable of playing up front, is very versatile and, most importantly, fits in to Pochettino's style beautifully. He had a great season in the Premier League last year, scoring fifteen goals and forming a deadly strike partnership alongside the now-Liverpool player Rickie Lambert. He also made his England debut - something he would definitely be able to build on at a higher-profile club like Spurs.
