Spurs Transfers: 10 January Replacements For Roberto Soldado

3. Christian Benteke (Aston Villa)

Belgian international striker Christian Benteke has been linked to Spurs since the days of Andre Villas-Boas. Indeed, at the start of last season, he was strongly expected to sign for the club until he surprisingly announced that he had signed a new contract at Villa Park. In the last campaign, Benteke continued where he left off in his breakthrough season at Aston Villa, reaching double figures in the scoring stakes yet again, in spite of the fact that he spent a couple of spells on the sidelines through injury. That being said, he was by no means the same player he had previously been and that could be due to the fact that he is becoming disillusioned with life at a club who aren't challenging at the top of the league. Having initially turned his back on a potential move to Spurs, he may opt to speak with them this time, should they make a move in January. Benteke is yet to score this season but, with the right man management, he could get back to his best form - that of a proven Premier League striker - and that would be great for Spurs.
