In spite of the fact that the most famous and prestigious international competition - the World Cup - is a mere nine days away, media outlets across the United Kingdom are still indulging in the yearly ritual practise of silly-season transfer rumours at the domestic level. Players are being linked with new clubs left, right and centre (even those currently on international duty with their respective countries) and, as usual, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are right in the middle of it all. The White Hart Lane club always seem to attract a crazy amount of attention when it comes to potential transfer ins and outs near the two transfer windows and this one is no different. Last summer, of course, the club delivered - the sale of Gareth Bale (and numerous other members of the first team squad) saw an influx of no less than seven new players in Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli, Vlad Chiriches, Christian Eriksen, Erik Lamela and Etienne Capoue - and, if this summer's rumours are to be believed, they could be just as active during this upcoming window. Of course, the club have recently appointed a new boss in Mauricio Pochettino - the Argentine former Espanyol boss having joined from Southampton on a five year deal - and this has only heightened expectations of change amongst the playing staff. Some of the links to players have come as very welcome news - with the likes of Pochettino's former players Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw being potentially very exciting for Spurs and their fans - but some of the links are very underwhelming.
