Spurs Transfers: 11 Signings Mauricio Pochettino Must Make Immediately
3. Luke Shaw
Current Club: Southampton Given Spurs' aforementioned weakness in the left back position, they should, at the very least, attempt to hijack Luke Shaw's touted £27 move to Manchester United by using Pochettino's connection to the player and club to their advantage. Spurs themselves have been credited with an interest in the youngster in the past and, now that Pochettino looks set to take the reins at the club, they could go back in for him. His cost could prove a stumbling block and if he sets his mind on a move to Manchester United things could get even more complicated, but the guarantee of first team football, the Pochettino factor and the undeniable fact that Spurs are currently a higher-placed Premier League team than Manchester United could well lure Shaw to White Hart Lane. Shaw's fantastic performances this season earned him his first England cap, a place in the PFA Team of the Year and a place in England's World Cup squad. At 18 years old, he has a fantastic future ahead of him and, if that happens to be at Spurs, the future could be bright at White Hart Lane too.
