Spurs Transfers: 11 Signings Mauricio Pochettino Must Make Immediately

7. Jay Rodriguez

Current Club: Southampton Jay Rodriguez has had a fantastic season for Southampton. The striker has scored 15 Premier League goals - making him the third highest scoring Englishman behind only Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney - and has been rewarded with his first England cap. However, he was badly injured on the 5th of April in a match with Manchester City when he ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament and missed the last month of the season. He is set to miss six months of action in total - including, devastatingly, the World Cup - and will therefore not be back to full fitness until around October time. That said, he is still a more than worthwhile potential signing for Spurs. Anyone who can bag 15 Premier League goals in a season would be an invaluable asset for a club struggling to find the back of the net and the step up to a club of Spurs' stature could be the catalyst for Rodriguez to become even better. At only 24 years old, he is yet to reach his peak and he could become an integral part of Spurs' future (and potential future success) should Pochettino bring his star striker with him to White Hart Lane. If reports are to be believed, it's a distinct possibility.
