Arguably under other circumstances, Di Maria wouldn't be tempted by a move away from the Bernabeú, but with Real Madrid looking favourites to snap up Bale, he could be exiting Spain and coming to North London as a sweetener to the protracted world record deal.

If this deal comes through, Spurs will be getting a very complete player notable for his attacking player and his status as a team player (53 assists is a testament to this-not forgetting his 25 goals during his stay in the Spanish capital). For these reasons he tops the list and I see him as a perfect candidate to feel Bale's boots at the heart of Spurs' attacking threat.
