5. Fabio Coentrao
Fabio Coentrao could fix multiple problems for Tottenham this summer. Not only are Spurs back in the market for a new, left-sided winger, but they also need a left-back as well given the
uncertainty over Benoit Assou-Ekotto. The Cameroon international could move to France before the closure of the transfer window on September 2 after an injury-hit campaign last season coincided with him falling out of favour with Andre Villas-Boas. The 29-year-old didn't even feature against Crystal Palace for his club's opening round of Premier League fixtures with Kyle Naughton and even Jan Vertonghen operating in the left-back role recently. And the Lilywhite's problems in that department could be fixed by the possible arrival of Coentrao from Real Madrid as a makeweight in the world-transfer-record-breaking deal for Gareth Bale. The Portugal international is versatile and can operate on the left-wing and even central midfield, too, which would be killing a lot of birds with the one proverbial stone, so to speak.
