3. His Move Is An Inevitability
There's talk at present of Bale
signing a contract extension at White Hart Lane, but make no bones about it - his departure is an inevitability. Tottenham's efforts to convince the 24-year-old to pen a new contract is merely a tactical ploy to strengthen the Lilywhite's hand when it comes to bargaining for the player next summer, when he is expected to quit North London. Speaking as a Manchester United fan who saw Cristiano Ronaldo finally join Real Madrid in 2009 after an age-long saga, I know that Real are a club who get what they want - one way or another. Refusing to sell Bale now is merely delaying the inevitable. A case of Tottenham cutting off their nose to spite their face. Sure, they can keep hold of the Welshman for one final year, enjoy 12 more months of the midfielder's services and then bid farewell, but they'd still be faced with the exact same problem next summer, and that is, how to replace him. That problem isn't going to go away and it's something Spurs are going to have to face up to sooner rather than later.
