After less than one full season at Spurs and a very limited number of appearances Erik Lamela has typically already been labelled a flop by fans and media like. This is madness. It's expected in this fickle world, but madness nonetheless. The 22 year old is a full Argentine international who has performed brilliantly for Roma in the Italian top flight Serie A so to write him off after one season in England is absurd. Lamela will have endured an undoubtedly huge culture shock after his £30 million move from Rome last year and the early impact of that should not be underestimated. Even adjusting to just being in England would have been hard for Lamela so it is somewhat understandable that his game might have suffered. Players of his standard don't become bad players overnight and, with the right manager and nurturing, he could still become a top star at White Hart Lane. Next season, after a year of settling in, making him the focal point of the team could have a great effect on the youngster and he could provide the same midfield-striker link, assists and goals that Christian Eriksen has been providing so often recently, should the Dane depart. So there you have it - five potential replacements for Christian Eriksen if he leaves White Hart Lane. Do you agree? Who else would be a realistic alternative to the Denmark star?
