Spurs Transfers: 5 Things Roberto Soldado Will Bring To The Club

5. A Reputation Enhancement

soldadospain In the midst of all the Gareth Bale talk and with 'experts' like Jamie Redknapp saying that Spurs are a selling club, how refreshing it is for the club's profile to bring in a 28 year old Spanish international superstar, in his prime, for a £26m fee, knowing that the likelihood of making a profit on him in the future is slim to zero. More to the point, how great it is for Spurs to prove themselves an attractive proposition for such a class player. Any player who fights his way in to the Spanish national team at this stage is a class act. They're the reigning World Cup and European Championship holders and boast some of the best players in the world - Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Sergio Ramos, David Villa, Gerard Pique... I could go on. Signing Soldado shows Spurs mean business and will send a message out the rest of the Premier League - and indeed to the rest of Europe - that they want to start challenging for and winning trophies.
