Spurs Transfers: 5 Things Roberto Soldado Will Bring To The Club

4. Strength In Depth

For the past couple of seasons, the only real out and out striker options (that are noteworthy) that Spurs have had are Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor. Defoe, whilst brilliant on his day, is one-dimensional and inconsistent and Emmanuel Adebayor only tries when he feels like it, despite having a lot of talent, so it will be great for Spurs to have another top class striker to call upon, whilst also having able backup in the form of their existing strikers. Soldado also offers a different type of striker to those Spurs already have. He's a poacher and a strong physical presence at the same time, which is something that neither Defoe or Adebayor can claim.
